Volunteers can make valuable contributions to our schools, not only in the instructional program but also in connection with special activities, field trips, the school health program, etc. The Board of Education therefore, endorses a volunteer program, subject to suitable regulations and safeguards. This would include, but not be limited to, the volunteer signing up with the district and subject to a background check and completion of district training.
Retirees, parents, and other citizens shall be encouraged to serve as volunteers to help teachers and other licensed personnel enrich and expand the work done in the classrooms at every level of education in the school district. Volunteers will become members of a teaching team, working together to achieve the educational goals of the school district, and to maximize the learning opportunities for children. All volunteers are required to register their attendance in the school office upon entering the school building.
